Trademark Clearinghouse is a registered mark protection mechanism established by ICANN as part of its New gTLD Program. It consists of a public data base aiming at making things easy for officially registered trademark owners to register domains before the general public does.
The data base contains information on trademarks from all over the world which have passed the authentication process set out in the Trademark Clearinghouse rules.

Frequently Asked Questions (FaQ)

What is Trademark Clearinghouse?

The Trademark Clearinghouse (TMCH) is a global database where registered trademarks can be enrolled to receive alerts if third parties attempt to register a domain with an exact match, or to gain access to priority registration during the launch of new domain extensions.

How does Trademark Clearinghouse work?

The registered trademark must submit an enrollment application along with the relevant supporting documentation. After validation by the TMCH, it will be registered in the database. From that point on, the trademark will receive the corresponding alerts and will be able to participate in Sunrise phases, or priority access, during the launch of new domain extensions.
